Groin holsters place the handgun mostly below the waistline around the 12:00 position. There are no body movement restrictions and very few clothing restrictions with this holster type.

There is also a 22 inch stainless barreled version, without a barrel band around the stock, but Wal-Mart is the exclusive dealer for this model. The .22 Long Rifle version uses an aluminum receiver, while the .22 MAGNUM version uses a steel receiver with integral scope bases. Ruger also produced a 10/22 model with a mannlicher stock, although it has been discontinued.
